About CCF-LA
The Catholic Community Foundation of Los Angeles (“CCF-LA” or “Foundation”) is a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable religious corporation guided by the values of the
Catholic faith. Its mission is to empower charitable individuals and organizations across cultures and generations through professional philanthropy management solutions that
allow clients to develop and sustain their philanthropy in support of Catholic values.
The Foundation began operation in 2015 and has approximately $580 million in assets under management and a staff of 14 individuals, including the President. The
Foundation is based out of new offices in Glendale, California, and a remote work philosophy, given the small and close staff, is not a preferred option. Thanks to the
vision of the Most Reverend Jose H. Gomez, Archbishop of Los Angeles, CCF-LA is one of the largest, independent Catholic foundations in America today.
What is unique about the CCF-LA is its faith-based focus, an unparalleled attention to customer service, historically solid investment results, investment policy aligned with the
United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) and the capability of teaching philanthropy to all types of individuals within its operation region. It is a tax-exempt,
public 501c3 that encourages and guides philanthropy and is dedicated to making charitable investments that are aligned with the mission of the Catholic Church.
Through CCF-LA, individuals, families, businesses and organizations can create permanent and non-permanent charitable funds that help meet the daily and long-term
challenges of the communities served. CCF-LA invests and administers these funds in line with the client’s intentions and wishes. For its clients, CCF-LA offers a range of
charitable giving options that provide tax benefits and strategic advice about philanthropy. For the communities served, CCF-LA brings awareness to the needs of
the community while providing charitable gifts that support the mission.
CCF-LA is a separate legal entity from the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. The Archdiocese of LA encourages the mission of CCF-LA through managed accounts and
referrals. CCF-LA is self-governing and there are no guarantees, express or implied, from the Archdiocese to clients. While clients of CCF-LA are predominately Catholic,
members of all faith groups that are in alignment with Catholic values are invited to join the growing numbers of individuals and organizations that entrust CCF-LA to manage
their philanthropy through grants and charitable contributions.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Chairman, the President is responsible to the Board in fulfillment of its fiduciary duties and stewardship in carrying out the mission of the CCF-LA. The
President provides leadership and management for all assets (i.e., talent, financial, physical and relationships), programs and services, including (a) the management of
the staff, contractors and other resources, (b) overseeing the investment management of all invested funds both contributed to CCF-LA and owned by its clients (c) the
development of near- and long-term strategies for asset and client growth and operations, and (d) the integrity of all client relationships and financial reporting.
Developing and growing the client base and expanding CCF-LA’s philanthropic platform is one of the most important duties of the President. This will require being comfortable
with developing relationships with Catholic leaders in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and making the proverbial “ask” to become part of CCF-LA. The position will require
being in full command of the Foundations offerings and having a genuine passion and conviction for the mission of the Foundation. Since CCF-LA is granting gifts almost on a
daily basis and therefore reducing its assets, growing the client base is critical to its continued long-term success. The next President is not expected to have a
“maintenance mode” mindset but rather one focused on leading and expanding a nascent Catholic foundation into its next exciting chapter.
The Candidate
The President possesses exceptional leadership and management skills with a strong business and/or development background and sophisticated financial/investment acumen. Foundation experience is a plus but not required. The individual will also possess the following:
Vision as a practicing Catholic to guide CCF-LA to reach its long-term potential.
Proven Team Leader and Team Player: maintain effective working relationships, compassionate and dedicated, empathetic, flexible, high-energy, goal-driven, and eager to grow the CCF-LA and its ministry.
Ability to obtain gifts and inspire individuals and organizations to open up CCF-LA accounts and move their philanthropic treasure to the Foundation to be part of its philanthropic management solutions.
A local relationship with their home parish and various religious (i.e., Bishops, Pastors, Priest and other religious) in the Archdiocese of LA will be preferred.
Experienced in working with individuals of all ages and levels of wealth.
Knowledge of the region, communities served, and personal connections a plus.
Excellent written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
A high degree of confidentiality, and the ability to exercise discretion in business matters pertaining to donors and those served.
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required, ideally in business or a related field; an MBA and/or advanced business, management or financial planning degree is preferred.
