1. LATINE STUDENT MINISTRY
a. Provide pastoral outreach and programming to Marquette’s Latine student community, which includes regular programming and presence.
b. Spanish Liturgies: Coordinate and plan in collaboration with the Campus Ministry liturgy team and student planning team.
c. Día de los Muertos: Coordinate and collaborate with university offices and student organizations to build an ofrenda and associated programming.
d. Posadas and Our Lady of Guadalupe Celebrations: Coordinate these celebrations in collaboration with student organizations, university offices, and the Campus Ministry liturgy team.
e. Fiesta de San Sebastian: Coordinate this annual Puerto Rican celebration in collaboration with student organizations and university offices.
f. Marquette Action Program – El Paso: Collaborate with the director of the Marquette Action Program to offer an immigration focused immersion experience. Lead this experience, assisted by one or two student facilitators, during spring break.
g. Camina Conmigo Retreat: Plan and facilitate in collaboration with the director of retreats.
h. Dreamer’s Support Committee and other university committees focused on serving Latine students: Serve as the Campus Ministry representative.
i. Regularly connect with university offices serving Latine students to build collaborative initiatives and a pastoral presence, including the Office of Inclusion & Belonging, Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures, Educational Opportunity Program, and Residence Life (Nuestro Hugar & Global Village).
j. Serve as a Campus Ministry collaborator and ally to Latine student organizations, including Multicultural Greek Council organizations, Latin American Student Organization, No Se Latino Dance Club, and MU Collective.
k. Provide a pastoral presence to Latine students and be present at significant celebrations and commemorations (e.g., Dreamer’s Gala, Unity Graduation, etc.).
2. ASIAN STUDENT MINISTRY
a. Provide pastoral outreach and programming to Marquette’s Asian student community, which includes regular programming and presence.
b. Simbang Gabi: Reach out to and assist the Bayanihan Student Organization with this annual celebration with special support offered for the liturgical elements.
c. Serve as a Campus Ministry collaborator and ally to Asian student organizations, including Indian Student Association, East Asian Cultural Organization, Bayanihan Student Organization, and the Chinese Culture & Charity Club.
d. Establish a pastoral presence and opportunities to support Asian students through semesterly programs, including Simbang Gabi.
e. Advocate for spiritual needs of students.
3. NATIVE STUDENT MINISTRY
a. Provide pastoral outreach and programming to Marquette’s Native student community, which includes regular programming and presence.
b. Serve as a Campus Ministry collaborator and ally to indigenous students, especially through the Native American Student, and university partners (e.g. Indigeneity Lab, etc.).
c. Establish a pastoral presence and opportunities to support indigenous students through semesterly programs, especially as part of Native American Heritage Month.
d. Advocate for spiritual needs of students.
4. SOUP WITH SUBSTANCE: Oversee Soup with Substance, living a faith that does justice education program.
a. Convene, coordinate, and collaborate with other university departments to provide the Soup with Substance program, including selection of topics, speakers, and weekly sponsors/hosts.
b. Manage the Soup with Substance budget.
c. Responsible for the supervision of student employees which includes but is not limited to hiring, training, disciplinary actions, ending the student’s assignment, etc. Student responsible for being emceeing/moderating Soup and generating and disseminating all forms of publicity and communications about the program.
d. Coordinate the commemoration of the University of Central America (UCA) Salvadoran martyrs.
5. GENERAL: As a member of the Campus Ministry team, this person will:
a. Meet regularly with leader.
b. Collaborate with other team members to develop, promote, and facilitate Campus Ministry programs for student population.
c. Assist with planning and facilitation of Campus Ministry Leadership Retreat.
d. Participate in team meetings, planning, retreats, and committee work.
e. Assess success and develop recommendations to improve the programs. Report results to leadership team and maintain appropriate documentation.
f. Serve as pastoral presence and be available for spiritual direction, hospital ministry and crisis situations, including emergency call rotation.
g. Serve as spiritual director/companion for students on an ongoing basis.
h. Lead prayer at office and university events.
i. Serve on committees as requested and support university initiatives.
6. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.
