Assumption University, a Catholic, Assumptionist liberal arts university in Worcester, Massachusetts, is seeking a Director of Campus Ministry. Qualifications include practicing Catholic willing to contribute to the mission and Assumptionist identity of the University, Master’s Degree in Theology, Ministry or a related field, 5 years (preferred) of prior experience in Campus Ministry. The Director interacts on a regular basis with students, faculty, administrators, staff, alumni/ae, members of the Assumptionist community, diocesan officials, and people from the Worcester community who worship on campus. Evening and weekend work is involved. Other members of the staff include three campus ministers, an InterVarsity Christian Fellowship representative, a graduate assistant, an administrative assistant, and Ministers in Residence.
Responsibilities of the Director include: (1) providing leadership and oversight for Campus Ministry programs and staff; (2) hiring, supervising and evaluating staff; (3) ultimate responsibility for all Campus Ministry programs including liturgy, retreats, service/immersion trips, sacraments; (4) fiduciary responsibility for Campus Ministry budget; (5) collaboration with the Assumptionists, the sponsoring religious community of the University; (6) serving on various University committees; (7) collaboration with Student Affairs and other University divisions; (8) providing pastoral care and spiritual direction to students and other members of the University community; (9) direct oversight of some Campus Ministry programs.
