Specializing in later vocations as well as rural, mission and international vocations, Sacred Heart works with seminarians and sponsors to meet the changing needs of our Church. We provide multiple tracks through priestly formation, continuing formation for clergy, an annual pilgrimage, and we are the only US seminary to have our own Catholic-Jewish studies center - named The Lux Center. LAMP (Lay Apostolic Ministries with the Poor) is a canonical missionary association within the Archdiocese of New York. We offer Catholic adults (ages 21-45) the opportunity to deepen their faith through 1-2 year committed time of service and prayer with the materially poor in NYC while living in community. Founded by Tom & Lyn Scheuring, PhDs, in 1981, our mission is to share the compassionate Heart of Jesus with those who suffer the most in our society – those who are poor, homeless, abandoned, sick, elderly, or ignored.
