The Oblate Service Corporation is seeking applicants for VICE PRESIDENT FOR ACADEMIC AFFAIRS AND DEAN position at the Oblate School of Theology (OST). The Oblate School of Theology is a graduate and professional school that provides education in Catholic theology for the church’s mission and ministry in the world. An avenue to bring together different cultures, OST educates for mission.
POSITION: VICE PRESIDENT FOR ACADEMIC AFFAIRS AND DEAN
POSITION STATUS: Full-Time, Exempt
SUMMARY: The Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean is the chief academic officer of the School and is appointed by and is directly responsible to the President. The Vice President is responsible for the fostering and promotion of excellence in all the academic programs of the school and this includes program development, implementation, review, evaluation, assessment of student learning and success, academic personnel decision, program and curriculum development, community service, research, publication and the contribution to the overall mission of the Oblate School of Theology. All other duties as assigned by the President.
WORK HOURS: Office hours Monday through Friday, occasional weekend and evening shifts may be required.
EDUCATION/SKILLS: Doctorate in Theology or an allied discipline from an accredited institution, required. Five years of senior administrative level leadership, experience in higher education including accreditation, faculty development, and strategic planning, required. A successful candidate exhibits interest in the predominately Hispanic cultural milieu of the church in the Southwestern U.S. Fluency in Spanish is highly desirable. Demonstrated competence in teaching and scholarly research is expected. Demonstrated sensitivity to and ability to work with the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of members of the school community, required. Knowledge of computers and computer applications that support business office and management systems functions, required.
