Up until now, our understanding of the authority of women in early Christianity has been excavated from the literary sources. But Christine Schenk, CSJ opens new possibilities for understanding the roles women played in Early Christianity in her book Crispina and Her Sisters: Women and Authority in Early Christianity -- winner of the 2018 First Place Award in History from the Catholic Press Association.  Exploring the visual imagery found on burial artifacts of prominent early Christian women paints a fascinating picture of women – and their authority –in the early Church.

Come and see the evidence for yourself, as Sr. Chris brings her research to life on this exciting pilgrimage!
