Margaret Beaufort Institute of Theology
12 Grange Road, Cambridge CB3 9DU United Kingdom
Applications are invited for postdoctoral researchers to join the Margaret Beaufort Institute of Theology as research associates (non-stipendiary). All theological fields will be considered, and interdisciplinary research is welcomed. Appointments will be made for one year in the first instance and are renewable for up to three years, starting in September 2021. You will have the opportunity to participate in a welcoming community of research, study and prayer, located in the context of the University of Cambridge with access to a wealth of theological resources. There will be some expectation that you teach a short study day and contribute to annual reviews of research students.
The Margaret Beaufort Institute of Theology is the Roman Catholic house of the Cambridge Theological Federation, an ecumenical partnership of eleven institutions. We set out to offer transforming experiences for women, community and Church through research, theological education, professional pastoral practice and personal formation. The Institute has particular specialism in aesthetics, ethics, pastoral care, spirituality and theology and the arts.
Applications should include a cover letter, CV with the name of two referees, a 1000-word statement describing the project they are seeking to undertake, describing the project area, the contribution to knowledge, the methodology employed, the proposed outcomes and the timeline for completion. Projects are usually expected to be undertaken within 1–3 years, and Associates will be asked to provide an annual report to the Institute as well as share work with the research community. Applications should be sent to Dr Férdia Stone-Davis, [email protected], by June 1st 2021.
