Join us in Chicago on April 26 for our “Blessed Are the Peacemakers” event as we award Bryan Stevenson our highest honor in recognition of his faith-rooted activism as founder and Executive Director of the Equal Justice Initiative, and his career-long dedication to helping those who are poor,  incarcerated, and condemned. At this time in the history of America, we have been inspired by the burgeoning anti-poverty and anti-discrimination efforts that challenge inequality in our country that he has initiated including the creation of two highly acclaimed cultural sites: the Legacy Museum and the National Memorial for Peace and Justice.

We at CTU are inspired by Mr. Stevenson’s call for people of faith to join him in the critical “prophetic and necessary Christian witness in the world we need so desperately” in political, cultural, and social spaces.

Mr. Stevenson’s ethos conforms with The Bernardin Center at Catholic Theological Union which continues the legacy of the late Cardinal Joseph Bernardin, particularly in fostering the quest for peace and justice and for harmony among the world’s religious bodies to further the common good.
